PV Sindhu is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal after a heartbreakingly close badminton final

The 21-year-old from Hyderabad lost to Spain’s Carolina Marin, world no. 1 in the sport, in an intensely close match at Riocentro Pavilion 4 on Aug. 19. Sindhu currently ranks tenth in the world and played an impressive game, closing in on Marin’s lead often throughout the match after winning the first game. #silver
